Herff Jones was on campus Wednesday for a Cap and Gown Assembly.  They will have 2 ordering sessions next week.

ACHS Homecoming Parade 2020
Date—September 25, 2020; starting at old high school; 3:00 PM
· Enter your float, car, golf cart, horses, etc
· Community participation needed: churches, individuals, businesses, alumni, community organizations
· All schools—enter your floats
· All coaches and teams—represent your team
· All club sponsors/advisors—represent your organization
· Help decorate; contribute your talents, ideas
o ATCO community involvement needed; let’s make this a community event!!
o Let’s make this the best Homecoming ever for our students, school, and community!!

We are excited about the upcoming ACHS/ACMS Homecoming 2020 festivities for our students and football season. The celebrations will begin September 21st and end on September 25th with our traditional Homecoming football game. Based on recommendations from Governor Kemp, the Department of Public Heath, and the Department of Education, we have adapted our activities to meet certain guidelines. Those guidelines have been posted on the school and district websites and Facebook pages. Please read the following information carefully, as it offers additional details for all students and the public.




Homecoming--September 21-25, 2020


·       Theme—will be announced Wednesday, September 9


·       Elect representatives—ACHS and ACMS elections early in September


·       HOCO dress up days—September 21-25, 2020


·       Senior officers and senior cheerleaders will make HOCO dress-up day posters; Ms. Shook will coordinate


·       HOCO door decorations—students will decorate classroom doors during AF


·       Presentation of representatives in gym—virtual processional; Facebook Live for underclassmen; Seniors and 8th grade will be in the gym and social distanced (see below for parent ticket information)


·       Parade—September 25, 2020 starting at 3:00 PM; line-up will be at the old high school location; occupants on floats, cars, etc must social distance; due to Covid anyone throwing CANDY must wear gloves on both hands; this includes ACHS and ACMS


·       HOCO Football game—Atkinson Co vs Miller Co—GO BIG RED!


·       Presentation of ACHS representatives at football game—scheduled during game halftime; Facebook Live (see below for parent ticket information)


·       HOCO dance—For the safety and well-being of all our students, we will not host a dance this year.


·       HOCO representatives will have pictures taken Monday, September 14 at 8:00 AM at ACHS. Their pictures will be in the local newspaper.


·       ACHS King and Queen pictures and ACMS Prince and Princess pictures will also be in the local newspaper.


 TICKETS for Presentation of representatives in gym


·       Due to Covid guidelines, all ACHS representative and all ACMS representative will receive two (2) parent tickets for admission to the presentation of representatives. Two additional tickets will be given for blended families. This allows adherence to the CDC social distancing guidelines. 


·       Parents will sit in a designated parent section of the gym.


·       The ceremony will be live-streamed on the Atkinson County Schools FB page.


·       Tickets will be given to representatives after practice - it is the responsibility of the representative to keep up with the tickets assigned.


·       We cannot replace lost or stolen tickets. 


·       Tickets will not be available at the door the day of the presentation. 


·       Every person who enters the gym MUST have a ticket, regardless of age. Adults only please.

HOCO Celebration


·       We will have a celebration at the Sid Strickland stadium on Thursday, September 24, 2020.


·       More details will follow.
